Michael D asked:

In Belgium, I saw many furniture stores owned by Turkish inmigrants, and they seem to be mixed-influence, with oriental style sofas and modern style sofas. And it seems that everyone has carpets at home.
But I just don’t know how the average Turkish people arrange their home.
Do they like modern design ? What about the lightings ?

What are the preferences of Turkish people, regarding interior design ?

Is it possible to double-major in architecture and interior design, and does that seem like a good idea? I’m either going to the University of Miami or to Ohio State.
Thanks, Trin- where do you go?

I am considering taking up interior design. What can you tell me about this field? I want to know both good and bad. If you are a student, please explain to me your experiences as to whether or not if the studying is hard because I have heard that you have to put in at least 30 hours a week of study time. And I would like to hear the views of people who work in the field. Has it been rewarding or a disappointment, please explain in details. I want only serious responses and only from people who are actually familiar with this trade.

I’m starting my own interior design company, but I don’t want to use my name in the name of the business. Any ideas for something catchy, but not corny?

I recently got accepted to U of Illinois, it does not offer an interior design program but it does offer a degree in architecture. I am not certain what I want to be yet but I was curious if the degree in architecture could offer flexibility for my career choice. I want to be sure that if I do end up majoring in architecture I could still possibly be an interior designer. I was also curious if I do want to be an interior designer I could possibly double major with some sort of art and architecture?

i’m sixteen, in high school (home school)
and interior design has always had my interest. I start an interior design class on the 20th, and have had hopes of possibly interning somewhere in the future. however, the economy is obviously terrible and i have the biggest fear of not being successful.

So i guess what i’m getting at, do you think if i were to attempt to pursue interior design, what are my chances of being successful with it? What is the interior design job market like ? any information would help, thanks.

I am currently a junior at a California State University, majoring in Interior Design, and I would like to transfer out of the school I am attending because this school’s program is not doing so good. I want to know what schools are best (in California) for Interior Design. I would rather move up toward the Bay Area, but if there are better schools down south, please let me know!!! :) THANKS!
